It was 2020, and we were still in the height of the pandemic. As a result of being cooped up at home due to lockdown restrictions, I ended up being obsessed with the niche hobby of mechanical keyboards.
Naturally, I found something even more niche than custom mechanical keyboards itself, the elusive hobby of collecting artisan keycaps.
At this point I thought to myself, I'm a creative, I can make things, why not make keycaps?
Kinsman is a knight that is stoic, heroic, but most importantly, he done with the pandemic.
Say hello to the new kid on the block. Whether this youngin’s playing cowboy or flicking you off with his finger guns is still up for debate tbh.
In November 2021, Kelvin from PROTOCOL reached out with the intention to feature Kin Caps, with a showcase down at Main Street Commisary. I took this opportunity to extend this invitation to 12 other makers in Singapore, and as a result of several months of effort, we collaborated and organized, Resinate.
I've set up an e-commerce storefront for these keycaps, and they can be purchased at kincaps.studio.
